Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has revealed that he always seeks permission from his female co-stars, particularly those who are married, before engaging in physical scenes during movie productions. He explained that this approach helps maintain professionalism on set and prevents misunderstandings that could affect the personal lives of his colleagues.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe said he is careful when filming romantic or intimate scenes and ensures that boundaries are clearly discussed beforehand. According to him, respect for people’s marriages and personal relationships is important, which is why he prioritises consent before performing such scenes.
The actor also clarified that his interactions with colleagues are strictly professional and should not be misinterpreted as personal relationships outside movie roles. He noted that he first met actress BamBam during a film project and had no prior relationship with her before working together.
Arukwe emphasised that mutual understanding between actors is essential for maintaining respect and professionalism in the film industry.
