The Afro-Arab Group of Companies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Greater Accra Chapter of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) to expand access to electric vehicles (EVs) for businesses while promoting environmentally friendly transportation in Ghana. The agreement was reached during the Chamber’s third Executive Business Meeting held as part of activities marking Ghana Month under the theme “Ghana Month Business Showcase.”

The partnership is expected to support businesses within the Chamber by enabling them to acquire electric vehicles through flexible financing arrangements. Under the initiative, GNCCI members will be able to obtain electric vehicles and pay for them over a 36-month period without interest, making it easier for companies to adopt modern and sustainable transport solutions.

Speaking at the event, the Greater Accra Chairman of GNCCI praised the Founder and President of the Afro-Arab Group, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, for championing electric mobility and introducing innovative programmes that support both environmental sustainability and economic empowerment. The Chamber noted that initiatives such as the “Work and Pay” model are helping to create employment opportunities for young people while enabling them to gradually own productive assets like vehicles.

Ambassador Amadu expressed appreciation to the Chamber for the collaboration, stressing that stronger partnerships among private sector institutions are essential for national development. He explained that the initiative aligns with government efforts to promote clean energy and sustainable transport systems across the country.

Stakeholders believe the partnership will accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles within Ghana’s commercial sector while strengthening business collaboration and supporting the country’s green transition agenda.
