MTN Ghana has delivered a strong message to investors, announcing a record dividend payout of GH¢6.4 billion to shareholders following an impressive financial performance in 2025. The decision, approved at the company’s Annual General Meeting in Accra, reflects a significant 57 percent increase in cash returns, reinforcing the telecom giant’s commitment to shareholder value.

Shareholders are set to receive a total dividend of GH¢0.48 per share, comprising both interim and final payments. The payout follows a year of exceptional growth, with MTN Ghana recording a 36.1 percent increase in revenue, rising from GH¢17.9 billion in 2024 to GH¢24.4 billion in 2025.

The company’s strong performance was driven by expansion across its core business segments, particularly data, mobile money, digital services and voice, all of which recorded notable gains. Profit after tax also surged by 55.9 percent to GH¢7.8 billion, reflecting improved operational efficiency and disciplined cost management.

Board Chairman Ishmael Yamson attributed the results to strategic investments in network infrastructure and service delivery, which enhanced customer experience and strengthened MTN’s market leadership. He noted that the company remains focused on sustaining growth while adapting to global economic uncertainties.

Industry analysts view the dividend as a strong signal of financial resilience and investor confidence, particularly within Ghana’s telecommunications sector. The payout not only rewards shareholders but also highlights MTN Ghana’s role as a key driver of digital and economic transformation in the country.
