The Lordina Foundation has renovated and fully equipped the Anyima Health Centre in the Kintampo South District of the Bono East Region to improve access to quality healthcare services for residents, particularly women and children. The project forms part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in underserved communities across Ghana.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the founder of the foundation, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, explained that the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting healthcare systems and helping reduce maternal and infant mortality in the country. She noted that many communities still struggle to access essential medical services, making such interventions necessary to improve health outcomes.

The upgraded health centre now includes an out-patient department, consulting rooms, examination rooms, a delivery room, labour ward, children’s ward, and male and female wards. Additional facilities such as a laboratory, dispensary, emergency room, adolescent centre, and offices for nurses and midwives have also been added to strengthen healthcare delivery in the community.

The foundation further equipped the centre with modern medical equipment including hospital beds, an electric obstetric bed, infant incubator, phototherapy unit, ultrasound machine, electrocardiogram equipment, oxygen supply systems, and patient monitoring devices. These additions are expected to enhance maternal and neonatal care services.

The facility is projected to serve more than 3,000 residents in Anyima and surrounding communities such as Amoma, Apesika, Jema and Kranbenko. Traditional leaders and community members expressed appreciation to the foundation for the intervention, describing it as a major boost to healthcare access in the area.
