The number of Black billionaires worldwide has increased to 27, with their combined wealth estimated at $121 billion, according to a recent Forbes assessment. This marks a rise from the previous year when there were 23 Black billionaires worth about $96 billion, reflecting the growing influence of Black entrepreneurs and investors across industries such as finance, technology, manufacturing, sports, and entertainment.

Among the most prominent figures on the list is Aliko Dangote, the Nigerian industrialist and founder of the Dangote Group, who remains Africa’s richest man. His fortune is built on major investments in cement, sugar, fertilizer, and energy industries across Africa.

The list also highlights influential figures from the entertainment and sports sectors. American music icon Dr. Dre recently joined the billionaire ranks more than a decade after selling the Beats headphone brand, which he co-founded, to Apple for over $3 billion. His wealth is now estimated at $1 billion, supported by ongoing ventures including a spirits brand he co-launched with Snoop Dogg.

Another notable addition is global music superstar Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, whose diversified earnings from music, fashion, and beauty businesses have propelled her into the billionaire category. Her husband, Jay-Z, has been a billionaire since 2019 and continues to expand his investments across music, liquor brands, and technology ventures.

Analysts say the expanding list highlights the rising economic power of Black entrepreneurs globally, demonstrating how innovation, strategic investments, and diverse business ventures are helping reshape wealth creation across industries.
